Job Description

Receiver and Production Manager Bar Contra | New York, NY Bar Contra, the acclaimed concept from chefs Jeremiah Stone and Fabián von Hauske in collaboration with Dave Arnold, author of Liquid Intelligence, is seeking a dedicated Receiver and Production Manager. We are a modern bar program driven by rigorous scientific techniques, from centrifuge clarification and vacuum infusion to advanced carbonation and non-alcoholic spirit development. This role is vital to the daily operation of our high-end program, ensuring that every component of our complex cocktail menu meets the highest standards of precision and quality. Role Overview This is a full-time position focused on the intersection of culinary prep and bar logistics. You will be responsible for managing the intake of all goods and the execution of sophisticated production recipes that power our cocktail program.
Schedule:
9:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM.
Structure:
4-5 days per week (to be finalized upon hire).
Start Date:
ASAP Key Responsibilities Production Management
  • Execute complex prep recipes using techniques pioneered in Liquid Intelligence, including distillations, clarified juices, and custom syrups like Poly-D and Glacid.
  • Collaborate with the bar team to ensure all prep (syrups, garnishes, clarified components) is ready for service. Strictly adhere to technical specifications for carbonated, built, and shaken cocktail bases. Receiving and Logistics
  • all daily deliveries, ensuring order accuracy, product quality, and proper storage.
  • Maintain a highly organized inventory system for spirits, botanicals, and perishable goods.
  • Execute daily quality control checks on all received produce and specialty ingredients.
  • Oversee basic administrative tasks related to receiving and computer-based inventory tracking.
Candidate Qualifications The ideal candidate is organized, technically minded, and passionate about the science of flavor.
Experience:
Basic understanding of bar production and recipe adherence. Kitchen experience is a significant advantage.
Skills:
Strong organizational abilities, basic computer proficiency, and a 'thirst for knowledge'.
Language:
Must be fluent in English.
Mindset:
Precise, efficient, and capable of working independently in an 9 AM
  • 5 PM environment.
