Job Description

Half Step is currently looking for a new member of the Bar Leadership Team. Below is a description of the role, give it a read-through, and if you think "Hell yeah!", we'd love to start a conversation.

The Role As a member of the Bar Leadership Team, you will work directly with your General Manager to identify areas for growth, develop new skills, and build your foundation for leadership. This role is designed as both a learning path to become a General Manager and an active management position within the bar. The GM has the autonomy to assign this position tasks, projects, and priorities that reflect both the needs of the bar and your development.

//www.halfstepbar.com/Main Duties, but are not limited to Partner with your General Manager to identify leadership goals and areas for growthCollaborate on cocktail menus, ensuring creativity, guest appeal, and cost-efficiencySupport planning and execution of events, activations, and community engagements aligned with the bars brandPartner with vendors and marketing teams to drive exposure, awareness, and revenue growthThis position will consist of 4-5 shifts behind the bar each weekClose the bar and handle cash nightly from drops and tip outsTrack guest feedback, event ROI, and revenue trends to inform decision-makingAssist with weekly budgets, inventory, and ordering to support financial goalsDevelop systems that improve consistency in service, prep, and operationsSupport the Bar Leadership Team by leading by example, mentoring peers, and fostering a culture of hospitality and accountabilityParticipate in training sessions, team meetings, and leadership development workshopsRequired Skills/QualificationsPrior bar or managerial experience in hospitality preferred3+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume or cocktail focused environment preferredAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment while keeping a calm, positive demeanorStrong product knowledge in spirits, beer, and cocktails with curiosity to expand expertiseAbility to balance creativity with financial awareness (menu costing, waste reduction, ROI tracking)Excellent communication and organizational skills with both staff and guestsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanorTeam-oriented leader with the ability to delegate, coach, and support peersMust be 21+ and hold valid certifications for responsible beverage service Physical RequirementsMust be able to work on your feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours)Ability to lift and move up to 50 poundsFast-paced movements and mobility required to cover bar and floor space efficientlyAbility to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as part of daily bar operationsWhat We Offer Pouring With Heart is more than a workplace, it s a community.
