Packaging Machine Operator | $20.50/hr | 2nd Shift |

2nd Shift Join a leading dairy manufacturing facility where you'll play a key role in producing and packaging products enjoyed by customers every day. We're looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals with machine operation experience who thrive in a fast-paced production environment. This position is responsible for operating automated packaging and filling equipment, monitoring product quality, and ensuring production runs safely and efficiently. If you have experience in manufacturing, food production, packaging, or machine operation, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do Operate automated filling, packaging, labeling, and production equipment Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments as needed Perform quality checks on products, packaging, labels, seals, and fill levels Remove defective products and notify supervisors of equipment issues Record production data, weights, counts, and quality information throughout the shift Ensure products meet food safety and quality standards Assist with product changeovers and machine setups Work closely with quality and production teams to maintain efficient operations Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all food manufacturing, safety, and GMP procedures What We're Looking For Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing, food production, packaging, or processing environment Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic production or equipment issues Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Basic math skills for production checks and documentation Basic computer skills for data entry and production reporting Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in a refrigerated production environment Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic Preferred Qualifications Experience in food manufacturing or dairy production Experience operating filling, packaging, or processing equipment Familiarity with quality inspections and production documentation Experience with product changeovers and machine adjustments Why Join Our Team? Employees may be exposed to dairy products and other common food allergens. The environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and focused on maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and product quality. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
