Company Overview Third Space Brewing is an independent production craft brewery located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At Third Space, we have a passion for creating high-quality craft beer and a fun and welcoming "third space" for our customers (you have your home, you have your work, but everyone needs a third space). We have a taproom and beer garden on site in our 11,000 square foot brewing facility just west of downtown in the historic Menomonee River Valley. We strive to create a company culture and a brand that is fun, approachable, and team-oriented. We value impeccable customer service, hard work, integrity, and a devotion to creating and selling high-quality craft beer. Position Summary We are looking for a motivated, friendly, and hard-working person to join our taproom team as a brewery tour guide and occasional bartender (much more opportunity this spring/summer!). This position is limited in hours and requires a commitment to working approximately every other Saturday throughout the year. Hours will start at 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturdays at our taproom for tours. Each Saturday, you will lead our brewery tour from 2:00-3:00. And from 3:15-4:15. Bartending shifts will start on a pickup, coverage, or event basis, with more opportunities available this summer at our multiple locations. We are looking for someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about craft beer, and who excels at connecting with and entertaining people. Qualifications 21+ years old Ability to work on feet for full shift Entertainment, public speaking, or tour guide experience strongly preferred Service industry experience preferred but not required State of Wisconsin or City Of Milwaukee Bartender's License Key Competencies Craft beer knowledge Knowledge and familiarity with the brewing process and brewing equipment Familiarity with the Third Space brand and culture Friendly attitude and composure in high stress situations Be a self starter Able to take direction well Availability for occasional private tours on other days of the week preferred Availability for occasional tours for special events at the brewery Essential Job Functions Represent the Third Space Brewing brand with excitement and professionalism at all times Organize the tour experience, including communicating tour start time and location to customers, and working with the tap room staff to check in tour guests Lead brewery tours by telling the Third Space story, explaining our beers to customers, explaining the brewing/production process, and creating fans of the Third Space brand Keeping customers safe and the brewery secure while leading customers through the production space Assist tap room bartending staff with the following duties before and after the tour Keeping tap room and brewery clean and organized Answering customer questions Engaging customers in conversation about their experience at Third Space Helping customers obtain tour merchandise and included beers Creating ways to enhance our tour experience
  • Pour pints, samples, growlers, and flights efficiently
  • Be an expert on all Third Space beers
  • Clean and organize the taproom, beer garden, and the bar area as well as seating areas, cold box areas, and bathrooms
  • Bus & clean tables to ensure timely turnover of tables
  • Fulfill orders in a timely manner
  • Required to lift up and change 55-lb kegs and required to move kegs 165 lbs
  • Stock merchandise and inventory including cans, growlers, t-shirts, and glassware
  • Ability to interface with POS software (Square)
