Hires, trains, evaluates, motivates, and, when necessary, terminates Count Room personnel in accordance with Ameristar Black Hawk Casino Resort & Spa policies and procedures. Maintains protection of extremely substantial amounts of currency, ensuring prevention of loss by providing extreme care and attention to detail. Ensures that procedures and proper controls are affected to protect counted receipts. Maintains close control over all activity in the Count Room by awareness of changes and/or problems which may affect the security of the currency in the Count Room. Schedules Count Room personnel and obtains signatures daily as required by the Colorado Division of Gaming. Observes count, reviews count slips, and reconciles total funds to ensure the integrity of the count. Transfers receipts to the Cage and the corresponding documentation to the Revenue Audit Department on a daily basis. Remain in compliance with all ICMP (Internal Control Minimum Procedures); cooperate and comply with all audit requests. Operates within the department budget.

Management experience Experience with Casino operations preferred, but bank vault operations are acceptable. Familiar with gaming regulations regarding count room operations. Ability to lift and transport up to and sometimes over fifty pounds multiple times in an 8-hour shift. Able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Gaming License. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management. Ability to identify different denominations of gaming chips and currency and quickly count stock chips and currency. Ability to bend, squat, reach and twist to be able to retrieve full and empty coin boxes. Ability to push/pull the drop cart, with assistance, which can weigh up to 2,000 pounds. Ability to remain standing for majority of shift and make way around the Count Room in an efficient manner. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed. Knowledge of Oasis computer system, state operation of currency counting equipment, and 10-key calculator. Knowledge of cashiering or banking operations. Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates, coworkers, and management. Ability to count and separate varying denominations of chips and currency. Ability to motivate and direct the performance of subordinates. Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
