Job Description

The purpose of this position is to evaluate data, trends and workflow processes, and monitor data input to assure quality control of records management system and compliance with rules and regulations. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed. Reviews and updates open records policies and procedures for effectiveness and compliance with applicable regulations. Reviews and update policies, practices, precedents, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Provides guidance and oversight with daily Open Records requests. Provides guidance in the coordination efforts with the County Attorney's Office, Mayor's Press Office and Mayor's Legal Counsel on open records issues. Oversees the development of training programs and conducts training. Provides oversight in systems upgrades, output requirements, report specifications, operating procedures, goals and objectives and advises on solutions to problems. Evaluates computer application functions and updates policies to improve efficiency and utilizations of computer applications. Performs related work as assigned. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business or Public Administration or related discipline. Three (3) years of open records processing experience. -or- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must submit to fingerprinting for criminal history check.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience editing and redacting video footage.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
