Job Description

The Seasonal Golf Course Clerk is responsible for assisting the golfers in preparing for their round of golf, assisting golf course management with facility operations as needed and supervising facility rentals. The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Helps to ensure the safety of patrons and fellow staff members. Assists in all aspect of operations; Answering phones, assisting golfers as needed, food preparation/service, and assisting in league operations & general golf programs. Provides Alcohol/beer service following alcohol safety standards. Assists with special events, tournaments and community building rentals. Performs general cleaning including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping and trash removal. Provides support to youth golf programs as needed or as requested. Provides high quality sales operations, including money handling and cash register operations as well as safe operations of daily receipts control. Provides work direction to other seasonal employees as directed. Continually shows respect for diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and interests. Exhibits sensitivity to the needs of diverse audiences in all duties performed on behalf of the City to support Roseville in building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working environment and community. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Has strong basic math skills and is able to perform accurate money transactions and cash register operations. Must work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule. Is able to communicate orally and in writing and understands, follows, and transmits written and oral instructions. Establishes effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and the general public. Is able to work early a.m. hours, weekends and holidays. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of the job. Most work is performed in a normal office environment; however, there is exposure to a multitude of elements including stress, pressure, and inability to control work pace. Occasionally the job may involve working with and calming individuals who are emotionally charged over an issue. The position requires availability on evenings and weekends. Limited lifting of 20 pounds or less is required less than 15% of the time. The Golf Course Clerk is responsible for varied technical, complex, and confidential functions, many of which have deadlines and require significant attention to detail. Approximately 45-70% of the time, work is performed at the highest level of detail under the pressure of deadlines.
