Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
: The primary responsibility of the Clerk Mutuel is to assist guests with placing wagers on horse racing and sporting events from around the globe. All duties are to be performed following departmental property policies, practices, and procedures.Position:

:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of cash-handling experience.
- Experience in a similar resort environment.
- Able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
:- Gaming Registration as required by jurisdiction.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Able to work in and adapt to a dynamic and frequently changing environment.
- Working knowledge of sports.
- Proficient cash handling and math skills.
- Basic computer and reservation software skills.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic knowledge of reservation and computer software including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine
- Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
- Ability to work in an environment where pipe, cigar, and cigarette smoking is permitted
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the Casino/Hotel areas

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:- Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for race and sports wagers following department policy and procedures and ensuring compliance with applicable jurisdictional gaming statutes and regulations.
- Maintain a cash bank for his/her shift, responsible for accepting payment and making a correct change when necessary.
- Stock Race & Sportsbook Writer/Cashier's stations with adequate supplies; keep all stations neat and clean.
- Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs.
- Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shifts, following established cash-handling policies and procedures.
- Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests.
- Create and enter player tracking cards.
- Ensure the protection of customers' rewards and adherence to credit lines.
- Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
