Job Description:
SUNY Broome Community College is accepting applications for part-time Ice Center Attendants to join our team at the Ice Center. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities Management- Ice Center. This is an ongoing recruitment, and candidates will be contacted and hired as positions become available based on operational needs. About the
Position:
Ice Center Attendants play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Ice Center. Attendants may be cross-trained and assigned to various roles, including: 1. Ice Center Helper Assists the manager on duty with various tasks during shifts. Training will be provided to safely operate the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni) to maintain ice quality. 2. Cashier Handles customer payments during Open Skate sessions. Works with the manager on duty to ensure all transactions are recorded and deposits are reconciled accurately. 3. Skate Rental Attendant Distributes and collects rental skates, ensures skates are in good condition, and maintains proper cleaning and storage of all skates in accordance with Ice Center policies. 4. Skate Guard Monitors skaters during sessions to ensure safety and enforce rink rules. Strong skating skills are required for this role.
Requirements:
Ability to ice skate is strongly preferred. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable attitude. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Patience and professionalism when interacting with customers of all ages. Reliable, responsible, and committed to assigned shifts and duties. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Additional Information:
