Restaurant Host/Hostess

Job Description Safari & Vine is seeking a friendly, organized, and energetic Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team. Located right by the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, our restaurant offers a thoughtfully curated blend of global flavors in a fun, upscale-casual atmosphere. As the first point of contact for our guests, ranging from local foodies to visiting families and zoo-goers, you will play a crucial role in setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. If you have a passion for hospitality and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to meet you! Responsibilities Warmly greet guests upon arrival and provide a welcoming first impression. Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating charts efficiently (experience with OpenTable is a plus). Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and introduce them to their server. Answer phone calls professionally to take reservations, answer questions, and provide directions. Communicate effectively with servers, bussers, and management to ensure a smooth flow of service. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting host stand and entryway. Bid guests a warm farewell as they leave and invite them to return. Requirements Previous experience in a restaurant or customer service role is preferred, but we are willing to train the right personality! A positive, outgoing attitude with excellent communication skills. Ability to remain calm, organized, and friendly during high-volume shifts. Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Why Join Us?
