Gusano's Pizza Position Summary At Gusano's Pizza, our hosts are the first and last impression every guest has of our restaurant. In addition to greeting guests and managing the dining room, our hosts play an important role in handling takeout orders and ensuring every guest receives friendly, efficient service. We're looking for outgoing, dependable team members who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy creating great experiences for both dine-in and to-go customers. Primary Responsibilities Welcome every guest with a warm, friendly attitude. Manage the waitlist and accurately estimate wait times. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus. Answer incoming phone calls professionally and assist guests with questions. Take accurate dine-in and to-go orders over the phone and in person. Process online and third-party delivery orders. Assemble, verify, and package to-go orders for accuracy and presentation. Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure takeout orders are completed on time. Process guest payments for dine-in and takeout orders. Coordinate seating to ensure an efficient flow of service. Communicate table availability and wait times with servers and managers. Keep the host stand, to-go area, lobby, and waiting area clean, organized, and fully stocked. Assist with bussing and resetting tables as needed. Support servers and other team members during busy shifts. Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return. Qualifications Friendly, outgoing personality with a positive attitude. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail, especially when entering and packaging to-go orders. Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality. Comfortable using a point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash and credit card transactions. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Bend, reach, and move throughout the restaurant frequently. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, guest-focused attitude.
