Host/Hostess

SUMMARY The Host/Hostess position is considered the face of each of the Dahl Restaurant Group locations. Most often, they are the first person our guests encounter. The Host/Hostess can make the guest dining experience a memorable one from the minute they walk in. It is imperative that our Hosts & Hostesses are professional in appearance and demeanor, and follow the DRG guidelines for greeting and communicating with all of our guests.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Directs and assists members and guests in locating their table as assigned. Manages the telephone communication to and from the desk. Carefully observes service provided to guests during the shift. Greets and seats guests, and prepares and maintains a waiting list during peak periods. Administrative support and duties as assigned by Restaurant General Manager Attends meetings, seminars and training courses as requested Stocks service station with supplies when necessary Dusts chairs before and after meals. Cleans and stores child highchairs and booster seats if available. Takes packaged take-out orders to the reception stand for member pick-up. Fold napkins and breadbasket linens if necessary.

Excellent oral and written communications skills Professional and warm demeanor Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to other employees, customers and managers. Ability to answer guest question clearly and concisely Ability to read and/or follow written and verbal instructions and implement at the same. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to understand policies and procedures and to follow them.
