Job Summary Avra Beverly Hills is seeking a friendly, polished, and dependable Restaurant Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will warmly welcome guests, manage seating, coordinate reservations, assist with guest requests, and help create a smooth and welcoming dining experience. This position is ideal for someone with excellent communication and organizational skills who enjoys working with people and can maintain a professional and positive attitude in a busy restaurant environment. Key Responsibilities Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival. Create a friendly, professional, and welcoming first impression. Manage guest seating and maintain an organized waiting area. Coordinate reservations, walk-ins, and table availability. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus when appropriate. Communicate estimated wait times accurately and professionally. Answer questions about the restaurant, menu, and dining experience. Assist guests with special requests and seating preferences. Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and other restaurant team members. Monitor table turnover and coordinate seating flow during busy periods. Maintain accurate reservation and seating information. Keep the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas clean and organized. Assist with phone calls and reservation inquiries as needed. Support the restaurant team during busy service periods. Follow restaurant service, cleanliness, and workplace safety procedures. Assist with opening, closing, and other duties assigned by management. Requirements Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or guest-service experience is preferred but not required. Friendly, polished, and professional attitude. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Basic computer or reservation-system experience is a plus. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Preferred Skills Previous experience in a full-service or upscale restaurant. Experience with reservation or table-management systems. Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of restaurant seating and service flow. Professional phone and communication skills. Ability to multitask while maintaining a welcoming attitude. Strong organization and time-management skills. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to handle guest requests with professionalism and discretion.
