The successful candidate will warmly welcome guests, manage seating and waitlists, coordinate table assignments, answer phones, and work closely with the restaurant team to provide an organized and welcoming dining experience. The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant and lounge environment. Key Responsibilities Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments Escort guests to their tables and provide menus when appropriate Monitor table availability and coordinate seating with servers and management Answer incoming phone calls and assist with reservation and general inquiries Provide accurate information about menu items, seating, and restaurant services Communicate guest needs and special requests to servers and management Maintain an organized and welcoming host stand and entrance area Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house teams during busy service periods Monitor dining room flow and assist with maintaining efficient seating Assist guests with questions and requests in a polite and professional manner Maintain accurate reservation and guest information Support opening, closing, and other front-of-house duties Help maintain clean and organized dining and waiting areas Follow restaurant service, safety, and sanitation procedures Perform additional duties assigned by restaurant management Requirements Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or guest-service experience is preferred but not required Friendly, professional, and welcoming attitude Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organization and attention to detail Ability to remain calm and professional during busy periods Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment Basic knowledge of reservation or POS systems is a plus Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Benefits Competitive compensation Flexible scheduling options On-the-job training Supportive and team-oriented work environment Employee dining or discount opportunities may be available Opportunities for professional growth and advancement About the Company SUR Restaurant and Lounge is a Los Angeles hospitality destination focused on dining, beverages, entertainment, and a welcoming guest experience.
