Full-Time / Part-Time About Us We are a new, upscale Japanese dining concept bringing an elevated Sushi & Robata experience to the heart of Glendale. Located just steps from The Americana on Brand, our restaurant blends modern design with traditional Japanese hospitality to create a refined yet welcoming atmosphere. As we prepare for our grand opening, we are assembling an exceptional opening team of hospitality professionals who value warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail. Position Overview We are seeking polished, personable Hosts to serve as the first and last point of contact for our guests. This role is ideal for individuals who excel at creating welcoming first impressions, managing reservations and waitlists, and maintaining smooth dining room flow in a fast-paced, upscale environment. Japanese-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, though not required. Key Responsibilities Greet guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating efficiently Communicate accurate wait times and accommodate guest preferences when possible Coordinate closely with servers and management to maintain optimal dining room flow Answer phones, manage inquiries, and assist with guest requests Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entry area Assist with menu knowledge and provide basic guidance to guests as needed Uphold service standards, professionalism, and brand presentation at all times Follow all health, safety, and cleanliness guidelines Qualifications 1+ year of hosting experience in an upscale or high-volume restaurant preferred Experience with Japanese cuisine or hospitality concepts is a plus Japanese language skills are a plus but not required Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills Strong guest service mindset with a polished and friendly demeanor Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays Team-oriented attitude with attention to detail What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Comprehensive training on service standards and Japanese hospitality Staff meals and dining discounts Professional, respectful, and team-focused work environment Opportunity to be part of an opening team from day one Join Our Opening Team If you're passionate about hospitality, creating exceptional first impressions, and being part of an exciting new Japanese dining destination, we'd love to meet you.
