Maître d' | Coucou Venice Coucou is a French-inspired neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Venice, and we're looking for a warm, polished Maître d' to be the face of our dining room. You're the first impression and the lasting one — someone who makes every guest feel like a regular from the moment they walk in. You take ownership of the floor, lead with hospitality, and keep every service running beautifully behind the scenes. What you'll do: Own the full guest experience from arrival to farewell — gracious, professional, and always present Manage reservations, VIPs, and dietary notes in Resy; maintain a 100% confirmed house every service Lead pre-shift with the FOH team: 86s, menu updates, VIP notes, and policy reminders Coordinate table turns, staff breaks, and floor coverage throughout service Touch every table with a warm check-in; handle guest complaints personally and with care Oversee opening and closing duties — you're the last one out and the standard-setter every night Submit a detailed EON report to ownership before leaving the building Approve comps, voids, and employee discounts; track inventory and flag operational needs What we're looking for: Prior Maître d' or senior host experience in a full-service, upscale casual or fine dining environment Natural leader with a calm, confident, and welcoming presence Highly organized and detail-oriented — you notice everything Experience with Resy, Toast, and Sling a strong plus Professional appearance; grooming standards required We take the guest experience seriously — and we'd love someone who does too.
