Job Description
About the Position Limón Restaurant is looking for a friendly, professional, and energetic Host/Hostess to join our Front of House team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the Host plays an important role in creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and the seating flow, answering phone calls, assisting with large-party and private-event reservations, and maintaining clear communication with servers and restaurant management. We are looking for someone who is organized, personable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival. Seat guests according to reservations, guest preferences, table availability, and proper rotation of server sections. Manage the waitlist and provide guests with accurate estimated wait times. Manage reservations and confirm large-party reservations at the beginning of each shift. Answer restaurant phone calls promptly and professionally. Assist guests with general questions about the restaurant, menu, reservations, takeout, catering, and private events. Follow Company procedures for documenting and communicating large-party and private-event inquiries. Communicate reservation notes, birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions, allergies, and other relevant information to Servers and Managers. Coordinate with Management, Servers, Expo, and Kitchen regarding large parties and special events. Maintain accurate and organized reservation and seating information throughout the shift. Maintain the host station clean, organized, and properly stocked. Ensure menus are clean, organized, and ready for service. Monitor inventory of host-station supplies, gift cards, gift card covers, and other assigned materials. Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest service areas, including tables, chairs, booths, entry areas, windows, and restrooms as assigned. Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return. Learn the menu and restaurant services to accurately answer basic guest questions. Become familiar with regular guests and help provide a personalized dining experience. Report equipment, maintenance, cleanliness, or operational concerns to Management. Attend required meetings and training sessions. Support other Front of House team members as needed to maintain smooth restaurant operations. Follow all Limón Restaurant policies, procedures, service standards, and safety requirements. Qualifications Previous Host/Hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge of restaurant service and dining room operations preferred. Ability to learn reservation and restaurant management systems. High school diploma or GED preferred. Must obtain and maintain required food safety and other applicable certifications. Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays . Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to approximately 8 hours. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and move throughout the restaurant. Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 25 pounds. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
