Job Description

Rose Pizzeria in SF (Inner Richmond) is seeking a Lead Host to help shape the energy and flow of each service. As the first and last point of connection for our guests, this role is essential in creating a welcoming, thoughtful, and seamless dining experience from start to finish. The ideal candidate is warm, organized, and grounded under pressure. You have a natural sense of hospitality, understand how to guide the pace of a busy dining room, and know how to make guests feel genuinely cared for. You communicate clearly, stay attentive to details, and support the team with professionalism and grace. While restaurant experience is preferred, we value kindness, reliability, and a strong sense of teamwork above all. We're looking for someone who takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences and contributes positively to the culture of the restaurant every day. We hiring primarily for evenings - 4 shifts are required (3 shifts will be dinner service and 1 weekend day time service). Weekends are mandatory. We are openly continuously through the day - hours for shifts will vary from 4pm-9pm and 11am-4pm depending on what shifts are being worked. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage reservations, seating flow, and guest pacing throughout service Welcome and depart guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and menus Coordinate closely with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to support smooth service Anticipate guest and team needs while helping maintain the rhythm of the dining room Assist with table turns, waitlist management, and overall guest communication Uphold high standards of service, presentation, and attention to detail Required Qualifications & Competencies 2+ years of hosting or hospitality experience preferred Experience with RESY preferred Experience with
TOAST POS
preferred Experience in high-volume or hospitality-driven restaurants is a plus Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills Ability to remain calm, positive, and attentive in a fast-paced environment Passion for hospitality, food, beverage, and guest experience Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support all areas of service California Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain within the required timeframe) Working Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for 6-7 hours per shift Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment with varying noise levels and temperatures Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to navigate stairs, slick surfaces, and all restaurant areas safely
