Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob SummaryThe Karol Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the Feather Sound area of Clearwater, FL, convenient to the beaches, St Pete, and Tampa. The Karol features 123 rooms and suites, and features Katch Restaurant and Vantage Rooftop Bar, along with ballrooms and conference rooms to host events. The Karol Hotel is part of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio.

Hosts will be responsible for greeting and seating all guests in the restaurant to ensure each guest is welcomed with a warm, friendly, and enthusiastic greeting and that they are seated as quickly as possible to start their dining experience.

Essential FunctionsWelcome each guest genuinely and seat them as quickly as possibleMaintain reservations on OpenTableAbility to converse with guests to make them feel comfortable if there is a wait for tablesUse a rotation method to ensure seating is fairReport to work on time and in proper uniform/approved attireWork as a team with all team members within the hotelCheck greeter station assigned for cleanliness of areaEnsure the front of the restaurant is clean and all objects are dust freeCheck all tables to ensure they are set up and ready to be seated with guestsCommunicate to servers when seating tablesAssist servers when necessaryDrive forward kid's dining initiatives by ensuring children are taken care of with proper activities and assisting with scheduling kitchen tours as applicableHave knowledge of all areas within the hotelAbility to communicate to the managers the flow of the restaurantQuote accurate wait timesWatch the flow of the restaurantKnowledge of menu and wine to assist guests with questions and or suggestionsDetail tables and remove items not in use, e.g. seating a party of two at a four top, the extra place settings should be removedNever solicit tipsAttend monthly department meetings and daily stand upsPerform other duties as management requests to service our guests.

Ability to use POS (point of sale) systemTake ownership of the restaurantAssist managers with daily duties such as scheduling of stationsFollow the procedures addressed in the training manualEnsure successful performance assisting guests with an exceptional experience to ensure high performing scores on Marriott's Guest Satisfaction SurveyQualification StandardsEducation & ExperienceAt least 18 years of ageExcellent customer service skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to use technology e.g. tablets, iPadsAbility to assist with menu revisions when neededPhysical and Mental DemandsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate clearlyAbility to work a variety of shifts, including weekend and eveningAbility to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to othersAbility to manage varying personalities within the office, the hotel and the communityWhat's In It For You?
