Our team thrives in a fast-paced environment, and we're seeking a polished, personable Host/Hostess to be the face of our front-of-house operation. Job Summary As a Host/Hostess, you are the first and last point of contact for every guest who walks through our doors. Your role is crucial in shaping the guest experience, maintaining smooth flow during busy service hours, and ensuring the dining room operates with efficiency and elegance. You'll work closely with management and the service team to deliver warm, attentive service in a dynamic, high-volume setting. Key Responsibilities Warmly greet every guest upon arrival with a friendly, polished demeanor and maintain a professional appearance throughout each shift. Manage reservations and the waitlist using OpenTable, accurately quoting wait times and monitoring table turns to optimize seating efficiency. Coordinate seating assignments in real-time based on server rotations, guest preferences, and table availability to maximize guest satisfaction and service flow. Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, assist with reservations, provide information about the menu and hours, and accommodate special requests when possible. Maintain a clean and organized host stand and entrance area, including wiping menus, straightening signage, and ensuring a welcoming entry at all times. Communicate effectively with servers, bussers, and managers to anticipate guest needs, manage table turns, and assist with any special seating arrangements. Monitor pacing of the dining room, adjusting seating flow during peak times to avoid overwhelming the kitchen or service team. Handle guest concerns with grace and a solutions-oriented mindset, involving management when necessary to ensure a positive resolution. Assist with to-go orders or pick-ups via the host stand as needed, using TOAST to track and communicate with the kitchen. Foster a team-first environment, jumping in to help wherever needed to maintain an exceptional guest experience. Requirements Prior experience as a host/hostess in a full-service or high-volume restaurant preferred Proficient in using OpenTable and comfortable learning new technology Familiarity with TOAST POS or similar restaurant systems is a plus Strong communication and multitasking skills Ability to stay calm, courteous, and organized under pressure Professional appearance and a warm, outgoing personality Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand and walk for extended periods What We Offer Competitive hourly pay plus tip share Flexible scheduling with opportunities for full-time or part-time hours Staff meals and employee discounts A supportive, high-energy work environment with room for growth
