Restaurant Host/Hostess

Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and professional Restaurant Host/Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest relations, have excellent communication skills, and possess a strong understanding of hospitality standards. This role is vital in ensuring guests have a positive first impression and enjoy their dining experience from arrival to departure. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS. The position offers an opportunity to develop guest service skills in a dynamic restaurant environment. Reservations platform knowledge such as OpenTable is required. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently Escort guests to their tables and provide menus, answering any initial questions Manage waitlists and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover Handle guest inquiries via phone with professionalism and courtesy, maintaining excellent phone etiquette Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area Assist with guest requests throughout their dining experience to ensure satisfaction Process guest payments accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS Coordinate with the restaurant team to ensure smooth flow of service and guest seating Uphold high standards of guest relations, hospitality, and service quality at all times Requirements Previous host/host experience or background in food service preferred Experience with OpenTable• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Familiarity with reservation systems like OpenTable and Tock is a must Experience in hotel or guest services is advantageous Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for hospitality settings Good phone etiquette and guest relations skills Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed This role provides an engaging opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest service to contribute to a memorable dining experience.

Pay:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
