Job Description

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director, Food Services, the Dietary Assistant - Food Preparation is an active member of the Food Services team that assists in the preparation of nutritional meals and food consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of Food Service and CRHS. The Dietary Assistant performs a variety of duties as needed in the kitchen and on the tray line.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
Requires a high school diploma or GED state certification.
Experience:
Requires up to three months of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:
This job does not require any professional or technical licenses, registrations or certifications.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Prepares juices and salads, sandwiches and desserts. Arrange them in an attractive and appetizing manner. Presents daily menu selections and offers alternatives to the menu as allowed on prescribed diet. Stores items in designated refrigerators until serving time. Prepare beverages (fruit drinks, iced tea, etc.) served to patients. Assembles, delivers, and picks up patient trays in the patient rooms. Prepares late trays and deliveries for patients as required. Ensures that patient menu choices are entered into the meal production system. Distributes and collects patient satisfaction surveys. Takes inventory and stocks food, beverages, and snacks in the Nourishment Rooms in all clinical areas daily. Prepares various daily forms used for record keeping such as patient trays served and stock of Nourishment Rooms. Adheres to safety procedures when working around operating kitchen equipment.
