Job Purpose:
The Restaurant Host is responsible for creating a warm and friendly atmosphere for guests, ensuring efficient seating arrangements, managing reservations, and maintaining order and cleanliness in the front-of-house area. They serve as the first point of contact for guests and provide excellent customer service to enhance the overall dining experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Guest Reception and Seating:
  • Greets and welcomes guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Escorts guests to their designated tables and ensures efficient seating arrangements.
  • Manages the waitlist and handles reservations, ensuring accurate information is recorded.
  • Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate seating and ensure efficient table turnover.

Customer Service:
  • Provides exceptional customer service by answering guest inquiries, offering menu recommendations, and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Assists guests with special needs, including elderly patrons, children, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Handles guest complaints in a professional and efficient manner, seeking resolutions to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Acts as a resource for guests, providing information about the restaurant's offerings, promotions, and events.
3.
Reservation Management:
  • Maintains and updates the restaurant's reservation system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Confirms reservations and communicates any changes or special requests to the appropriate staff members
  • Handles walk-in guests effectively and efficiently, ensuring a positive waiting experience if necessary.
4.
Front-of-House Organization:
  • Keeps the front-of-house area clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
  • Prepares and organizes menus, reservation books, and other necessary supplies.
  • Monitors and manages the flow of guests, ensuring smooth and orderly operation.
  • Assists in organizing special events or private parties, coordinating with the restaurant management.
5.
Team Support and Communication:
  • Works collaboratively with the servers, bartenders, and other staff members to ensure seamless customer service.
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with the kitchen and waitstaff regarding seating availability, customer preferences, and any necessary coordination.
  • Provide feedback and communicates any issues or concerns to the restaurant management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience as a restaurant host or in a similar customer service role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, managing waiting lists and seating arrangements effectively.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of reservation management systems and basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with the restaurant's menu and offerings, as well as dietary accommodations.
  • Proactive attitude, ensuring a positive and enjoyable dining experience for all guests.
