Job Description

Brasero is looking for a Host to join our team! Located in the heart of the up and coming West Town, Brasero is the latest venture from John Manion, the Chef/Owner of Chicago's beloved El Che Steakhouse. Nominated by the Banchet Awards for Best New Restaurant 2024, Brasero focuses on Brazilian inspired, seafood forward cuisine.
Job Requirements:
The Host is expected to work with counterparts and communicate effectively with the management team to facilitate smooth and efficient flow of the dining room. The host is also expected to greet guests with a warm and inviting manner and depart them in the same fashion, ensuring that the guests first and last impression of the restaurant are hospitality driven.
Job Functions/Duties:
These select responsibilities are the most critical, yet additional responsibilities may be expected as needed. Must have strong working knowledge of every facet of Open Table utilizing features to plot dining room and manage reservations/ flow of service Must handle incoming messages, reservation requests/change Has strong working knowledge of all restaurant policy regarding all forms of reservations Communicates with Service Team, Management on Duty, and Chef on Duty regarding VIPs and Guests of Note Has understanding of restaurant's brand, operations and assets Communicate to service team regarding tables they are responsible for after cuts are being made Collaborate with management to plot dining room Alert management of any tables of issue regarding turn times on higher cover nights
Job Specifications:
Experience
  • At least 1 year of full-service restaurant experience in a related position is preferred. Professionalism
  • Host should create a warm and inviting environment by greeting/departing guests and ensuring a great first and last impression. Interpersonal Skills
  • Host should work collaboratively with the management team to facilitate smooth and efficient flow of the dining room. Physical
  • A Host must be physically capable of stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, lift and transport up to 25lbs.
Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours.
