Description:
Arts at the Armory seeks amazing, hardworking, fun individuals to join our staff at the Rooted Cafe! Arts at the Armory is an independent 501c3 non-profit arts center producing over 750 events per year in our performance hall and cafe. Rooted Cafe delivers excellence in service and quality to our customers patronizing both the performance hall and cafe. We are a cool, funky, community centered space and are looking to expand our amazing team. Cafe staff will start off at $20.00 per hour plus tips and after a 3 month assessment with your manager, may increase to $22.00 per hour plus tips if it is a good fit. Staff scheduling will vary from week to week depending on the event schedule. While there are no guaranteed amount of hours, we have a very busy fall schedule. Please be aware that we do have slower periods as well.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Be dedicated to our mission as well as our partnerships with the community. Provide overall assistance in the daily operations of the Cafe. Maintain excellent service standards. Promote excellent hospitality that is guest-oriented and welcoming. Must be hardworking, dedicated and always on time. Committed to the cleanliness and upkeep of the Cafe. Must be able to follow directions and communicate clearly to supervisors Must be able to work POS system, make coffee drinks, prep food and execute orders Must be able to open and close the cafe (cafe is only open when events are happening) and follow all opening and closing procedures. Must be available evenings and weekends. This is not negotiable. If you aren't available evenings or have open availability on weekends, please do not apply. We do the schedule for the cafe about a month in advance, so you will know your schedule well ahead of time. Must have TIPS certification. Must have
SERVSAFE
Food Handler certification. Both certifications are required before your first shift. Prior experience working in a cafe, restaurant or performance venue is not mandatory, but definitely helpful. Punctuality, attention to detail, the ability to follow direction, a strong work ethic and a great attitude are key.
