Restaurant Host Kenwood Country Club - 3.9 Bethesda, MD Job Details Part-time $18 an hour 17 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Employee relationship building Full Job Description HOST The primary responsibility of a Host is to prepare the dining areas for each shift; lights on, umbrellas up, host stand ready with supplies needed. A Host will accurately confirm dining reservations, politely greet and seat members at their reserved tables, distribute menus and dinner specials, and assign a server to the table. A host will also assist the bussers with removing soiled dishes, glassware and silverware from tables and perform other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and stock host stand(s) with all necessary menus and supplies for the day. Maintain clean and orderly stations throughout the day. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and members. Greet every member and guest with a smile, escort members/guests to tables. Receive and Record reservations accurately, by phone, email, online and in-person. Manage reservations and a wait-list. Clearly Communicate with members. Be active in continuous learning of steps of service and food & beverage knowledge. Manage the seating chart. Seat guests and distribute menus, specials and communicate next steps of service. Clean and sanitize menus, your workspace and assist the bussers with tables. Manage to-go orders. Complete opening and closing side work. Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and members.
ABOUT YOU
Previous Restaurant Host / Scheduling Assistant experience preferred, but not required. Accuracy in listening, writing and verbalizing what you see and hear. Ability to smile, be pleasant, and accommodating - Be hospitable. Speak and read English, clearly and neatly write numbers and letters. Follow procedures. Passion for service and obsessed with organization. Work at a fast pace, stay productive. Dependable - Report to work, in uniform and ready to work. Exercise common-sense.
REQUIREMENTS
Must possess valid identification and social security card. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. Adhere to Kenwood Country Club policies, including, but not limited to, the NO Cell Phone policy.
DRESS CODE / UNIFORM
You wear all black non-slip shoes, black slacks, and black belt. Kenwood will provide a polo shirt to be neatly tucked in and a nametag. You must have a good hygiene routine and neatly combed hair pulled back from your face.
AVAILABILITY
We are open Tuesday through Sunday and on Holidays. Typical shifts are 10:30am to 3:30pm (AM Shift) and 4:30pm to 9:30pm (PM Shift) - Times will vary.
PAY RATE
This position pays the current Montgomery County, MD minimum wage as allowed by law.
