Job Description

Description The Tides Beach Club is seeking a Beachtender! The Beachtender plays an essential role in enhancing the guest experience at The Tides Beach Club and Hidden Pond by providing exceptional beachside hospitality. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming and relaxing environment through thoughtful service, including setting up chairs, towels, and umbrellas, maintaining a clean and safe beach area, and delivering lunch and beverage service directly to guests.
Job Summary:
Maintains cleanliness of the designated beach area and equipment including, but not limited to, daily ongoing trash removal of beach, sea grass, and pathway, combing of the beach, maintaining the cleanliness of all beach equipment (chaise, tables, umbrellas, coolers, etc.), and laundering and folding of beach towels. Provides guests with complimentary rolled towels and cold water. Has an ongoing understanding of the hotel's daily recreational activities, both on and off the beach, as well as pricing, acceptable payment methods, and meeting places for such activities. Has an understanding of basic hotel and restaurant operations, including food and beverage knowledge, steps of service, and cash management, as it pertains to the selling of food and non-alcoholic beverages on the beach. Provides guests with snacks, lunch and refreshments for the duration of the food service period on the beach. Maintains the "invisible" property line of the hotel's beach amenities from the sea grass to the high tide mark. Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the hotel. Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service by promptly welcoming guests to the beach and assisting them in finding a chaise and umbrella to relax in and enjoy their day. Anticipates all guest needs upon beach arrival and throughout the duration of their day (i.e. assisting a guest in opening their umbrella, wiping the sand off a guest's chair prior to them returning from a beach walk, hanging a guest's towel over the back of their chaise as they leave their seat for a swim, etc.). Smiles and greets all guests by name when possible. Welcomes returning guests back with enthusiasm. Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required. Use safe work practices daily. Report any unsafe areas to Manager. Understand best practices in Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Accident Reporting, Right to Know Law, Written Information Security Program, Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures, and ensuring compliance with zero-tolerance policies including Anti-Harassment, Violence in the Workplace, or Influence in the Workplace. Comply with all time and attendance policies. Comply with all uniform, dress code, and appearance standards. Demonstrate a team-focused attitude and encourage collaboration. Ability to remain standing for the duration of their shift. Ability to regularly move and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to move quickly based on guest needs. Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information effectively in public, group environments. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to effectively solve problems and troubleshoot Ability to perform assigned tasks and operate equipment in a safe manner Availability to work flexible hours based on business needs including midweek and weekend days.
