Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to join our vibrant hospitality team! In this role, you will be the first point of contact for guests, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Your enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail will ensure guests feel valued from the moment they arrive. Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlist efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS Escort guests to their tables, ensuring smooth seating arrangements and timely service flow Answer phone inquiries with professionalism and provide accurate information about the restaurant's offerings and wait times Maintain cleanliness of the host stand, waiting areas, and dining spaces to uphold high hygiene standards Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as assembling simple dishes or beverages when needed Support food service staff by bussing tables, clearing dishes, and resetting tables promptly Handle cash transactions accurately during reservations or walk-in seating, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed Qualifications Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse guests confidently Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and POS operations Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the restaurant, and lift moderate loads when necessary Experience with restaurant management software such as OpenTable or similar reservation systems is a plus Excellent phone etiquette and guest relations skills to ensure every visitor feels welcomed and appreciated Join us in creating memorable dining experiences by providing outstanding guest services!
