As one of the first points of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience. This position involves greeting and seating dine-in guests, taking dine-in and take-out orders at the counter, answering phone calls, and helping maintain a clean and organized restaurant. Duties Greet customers warmly upon arrival and provide friendly, professional service Seat dine-in customers and help manage the flow of guests throughout the restaurant Take dine-in orders at the counter accurately and efficiently Take take-out orders at the counter and over the phone Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with questions about the menu, orders, and take-out service Process customer orders and payments accurately through the restaurant's Toast POS system Communicate customer orders and special requests clearly with kitchen staff Assist customers with menu questions and provide recommendations when appropriate Monitor the dining area and help ensure guests have a positive experience Clear and clean tables as needed during busy periods Keep the host/counter area, dining room, and other front-of-house areas clean and organized Follow restaurant food safety and cleanliness standards Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations Requirements Previous restaurant, host/hostess, or customer service experience preferred but not required Friendly, welcoming, and positive attitude Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced restaurant environment Basic math skills and ability to accurately handle customer payments Ability to learn and use the restaurant's Toast POS system Reliable and punctual Ability to work well independently and as part of a team Comfortable interacting with customers both in person and over the phone Willingness to assist with cleaning and other front-of-house responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For At Gaslight Kitchen, our hosts help set the tone for the entire guest experience.
