Restaurant Host / Hostess

Job Overview Mexican Connexion is looking for a friendly and dependable Host to join our team for the dinner shift. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, takes pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and is able to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant setting. Starting pay is based on experience and in accordance with applicable Michigan youth wage laws. Responsibilities Warmly greet guests upon arrival with a lively and professional attitude, making them feel instantly welcomed Seat guests efficiently while managing table availability Answer phone calls and assist customers with questions on take-out inquiries Ensure guests are well attended to throughout their dining experience Maintain a clean and organized host stand area, ensuring a positive first impression for all visitors Assist guests with special requests or accommodations, demonstrating excellent guest relations skills Support the team during busy periods by providing guest assistance and ensuring seamless service flow Clear and reset tables promptly after guests leave Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining room and host area Assist in keeping restrooms and common areas clean as needed Follow opening and closing procedures as instructed Learn and assist with basic cash register duties when required Communicates effectively with servers and kitchen staff to support smooth service Follow instructions carefully and maintain restaurant standards Help create a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment Qualifications Friendly and welcoming personality with strong customer service skills Strong customer service background with excellent communication skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Willingness to follow instructions and restaurant procedures carefully Comfortable interacting and engaging in friendly conversations with guests Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude during busy hours Demonstrated professionalism in phone etiquette and guest interactions to foster welcoming atmospheres Dependable, respectful, and able to work well with team members and supervisors Quick learner with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of the shift Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred, but not required Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to maintain a clean, respectful, and welcoming environment for both guests and team members

Pay:
