Job Overview The Granary is seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to join our dynamic hospitality team! Responsibilities Greet guests warmly with genuine enthusiasm and a friendly demeanor, making them feel valued and comfortable. Manage reservations efficiently using CRM systems such as OpenTable ensuring smooth seating arrangements. Maintain an organized waiting list, estimate wait times, and communicate effectively with guests about their status. Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the restaurant's offerings. Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize seating flow and reduce wait times during busy periods. Handle guest inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette, providing accurate information and assistance. Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring every visitor has a positive experience. Experience Previous host/hostess experience in a food service or restaurant setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is key! Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse guests. Experience using POS systems such as Toast POS or Aloha POS is a plus. Background in food service, serving, or hotel guest services enhances your ability to excel in this role. Knowledge of restaurant operations, guest relations, and hospitality standards is highly desirable. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a welcoming attitude in a fast-paced environment. Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills are essential for creating memorable guest interactions.
