Dillsboro, NC Host The Jarrett House The Jarrett House is a historic boutique hotel and beloved Dillsboro landmark located in the Great Smoky Mountains. Established in 1884, the property blends Southern hospitality with authentic Victorian charm. The Jarrett House includes guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, event space with bar service, and a retail bakery featuring house-made desserts. We are looking for dependable, service-minded team members who want to be part of a historic hospitality property and help create memorable guest experiences. Position Overview Hosts are the first point of contact for many guests at The Jarrett House and play an important role in setting the tone for the dining experience. This role includes greeting guests, managing seating, answering basic questions, assisting with reservations or waitlists, and helping maintain an organized flow between the front door, dining room, and service team. Hosts should be friendly, professional, and comfortable engaging with guests in a historic hospitality setting. Responsibilities Welcome guests warmly as they arrive. Manage the seating flow and maintain an accurate waitlist when needed. Answer guest questions about the restaurant, bakery, hotel, events, and property. Assist with reservations and communicate table status to servers and managers. Keep the host stand and entry area clean, organized, and inviting. Help coordinate guest flow during busy dining periods and special events. Communicate clearly with servers, bussers, kitchen staff, and management. Assist with menus, guest directions, and general hospitality needs. Support takeout, bakery, or retail guest interactions when needed. Represent The Jarrett House with professionalism, warmth, and Southern hospitality. Qualifications Prior host, restaurant, hotel, or customer service experience preferred, but not required. Friendly and professional communication style. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable interacting with guests of all ages. Ability to multitask in a busy environment. Dependable, punctual, and available for flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays. Ability to stand and move throughout a shift. Compensation Starting at $16+/hour , dependent upon experience and position. Employee dining/retail discounts and growth opportunities in a historic community-focused setting.
