As the first point of contact, you will set the tone for their visit by providing exceptional customer service, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating operations. The main job however, is to focus on phone orders and put them into the POS system efficiently, where as other staff are available to assist with other tasks associated with this position. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival with a friendly and professional demeanor, making them feel valued from the moment they walk in Manage reservations efficiently using POS systems to optimize seating arrangements and wait times Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu or restaurant offerings Maintain clear communication with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate seating flow and guest needs Handle guest inquiries over the phone with excellent phone etiquette, providing information about wait times or reservation details Monitor the dining area to ensure guest comfort, address concerns promptly, and uphold high standards of guest relations Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization at the host station, ensuring a welcoming environment at all times Assist with placing online orders through the Yang Ming Website and GrubHub Package sushi for delivery, pickup, and dining in orders Assist with lottery kiosk Qualifications On-the-job paid training available! Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure Knowledge of restaurant operations, serving etiquette, and guest relations techniques are great, although no previous experience needed Also enjoy perks like free food on the job and an amazing discount off the job!
