Lead Party & Play Host Location:
The Play Place (Flemington, NJ)
Job Type:
Part-time (Weekday daytime hours and/or weekends) Position Overview As a Lead Party & Play Host, you'll help create memorable experiences for children and families through play, parties, and café service. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, dependable, and enjoys taking initiative in a fast-paced, family-focused environment. In addition to supporting daily play sessions and birthday parties, this position includes leadership responsibilities such as helping oversee shifts, supporting team members, and ensuring our space stays welcoming, organized, and running smoothly. Responsibilities Greet families, assist with check-in, and provide a warm, welcoming experience Supervise and actively engage with children during open play to ensure a safe, fun, and clean environment Host birthday parties and special events while keeping party timelines organized and running smoothly Prepare coffee, espresso-based drinks, ice cream, and café items Clean and disinfect play structures, party areas, café seating, and restrooms throughout and at the end of shifts Help oversee daily operations during shifts and assist with problem-solving as needed Support and guide newer team members during busy play sessions and parties Assist with opening and closing responsibilities Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, children, and fellow team members Help maintain a positive team environment and welcoming community atmosphere Ensure safety, cleanliness, and customer service standards are consistently upheld Lead classes, storytime and other special events (optional) Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Availability year round (this is not a summer only position) Friendly, upbeat, and confident working with children and families Reliable, punctual, and comfortable taking initiative Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy shifts and events Comfortable leading groups of children and assisting with team coordination Ability to bend, crawl, climb, and move through play structures to ensure thorough cleaning and supervision Prior experience with children, customer service, leadership, hospitality, or barista work is preferred Scheduling & Availability We are ideally looking for someone available for both weekday daytime shifts (between 8:30am-3:30pm) and weekends . But are open to splitting into two positions.
