Job Description
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service by greeting and seating guests, managing waitlists, communicating with servers, and handling phone orders. This role is essential in creating a welcoming dining experience and ensuring smooth restaurant operations. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them as they leave. Manage guest seating according to server sections and restaurant flow. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus. Inform servers promptly when guests are seated. Answer incoming phone calls professionally and courteously. Take accurate phone orders and relay them to the kitchen or appropriate staff. Manage reservations and waitlists using the restaurant's reservation system. Provide guests with estimated wait times and update them as needed. Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure efficient service. Handle guest inquiries regarding menu items, specials, and restaurant policies. Assist with takeout and curbside pickup orders when needed. Maintain a clean and organized host stand and entrance area. Monitor dining room capacity and help optimize table turnover. Address guest concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary. Assist with opening and closing duties, including preparing menus and organizing seating charts. Support team members during busy periods to ensure excellent guest service. Qualifications Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Basic phone etiquette and order-taking skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to work under pressure.
