Job Description
Overview Tipped position, The host at drift serves more as a server assistant and assists servers with any tasks that need doing in the dining room, including but not limited to answering phones, greeting guests, taking reservations, assisting servers with clearing and resetting tables, refilling waters and assisting with running food. Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the seating process efficiently. Maintain an organized waiting list and communicate wait times to guests. Utilize Toast POS or similar systems to manage reservations and table assignments. Assist with guest relations by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues promptly. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service. Answer phone calls with professionalism, providing information about the restaurant's menu and services. Uphold cleanliness and organization of the host/host area, ensuring it is inviting for guests. Requirements Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel environment is preferred but not mandatory. Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members, both verbally and non-verbally. Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Toast Tables, is a plus. Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills are essential. A passion for hospitality and food service, with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
