JOB OVERVIEW
As a hostess you are the face of the restaurant. You will greet guests as they enter and show them to their table or waiting area with a welcoming demeanor. You will also engage with guests and be knowledgeable about amenities in the hotel and surrounding area. Communication and organization are the key to a successful career.
QUALIFICATIONS
1-year customer service experience. Be energetic. Work well under pressure. Availability nights, weekends, and holidays.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to lift 25 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information tone one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the company. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to maintain organization Ability to self-motivate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Comply with attendance rules and able to work on a regular basis. Greeting guests as they enter and exit building Use OpenTable to control rotation, seating, reservations and wait list. Answer phones with standard greeting and knowledge of menu items and surrounding areas. Control all transactions and cash handling protocols. Take all to go and Door Dash orders. Provide guests with menus and answering any initial questions. Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas. Engaging with guests to ensure they are happy with food and service. Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them. Answering phone calls, taking reservations, and answering questions. A knowledge of the menu. Helping with other positions in the restaurant as needed. Providing great customer service. Maintain cleanliness of workspace.
