The Restaurant Host greets guests upon arrival, informs them of their wait time, monitors the waiting list, and shows guests to the dining table. The Host may also handle phone calls and customer queries about the restaurant and menu and assist restaurant staff when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Full- or part-time with availability for varied morning shift beginning at 6am. Weekend availability required. 1-year experience of guest service in similar environment preferred. A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast- paced environment. Refined verbal communication skills. Friendly, outgoing personality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Greet incoming and departing guests warmly, with a genuine smile and attentiveness. Escort guests to assigned dining area and present menus. Ensure all tables are properly set before seating guests. Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service. Manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas and provide accurate wait times to incoming guests if appropriate. Maintain and use seating chart for rotation of stations. Organize and maintain a clean service podium. Ensure all menus are clean and in good condition. Answer phone properly and follow all reservation procedures. Follow all cash handling, credit card transactions and room charge procedures for guest payments. Complete assigned side work and related cleaning duties. Help dining staff by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water; serving beverages. Report to work when scheduled and in proper uniform. Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests, vendors and associates.
