Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and personable Host to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests. As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests with enthusiasm, and ensuring a smooth flow of seating and guest services. Your positive attitude and excellent communication skills will set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional customer service. Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and minimize wait times. Answer phone inquiries with clear, courteous communication, providing information about wait times or reservation details. Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate effectively with guests regarding their seating status. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting area in compliance with food safety standards. Support guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive first impression. Requirements Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant setting is preferred; food service experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage reservations and seating efficiently. Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service proficiency. Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable. Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and table counts accurately. Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant table management systems is beneficial. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and hospitality standards. Experience in hotel or hospitality environments is advantageous but not required; a passion for guest services is essential.
