Job Description

The Painting with a Twist, Media studio is looking for big personalities/outgoing artists (prior teaching experience is a plus but not necessary) to work in a creative, entertaining BYOB environment as Artist Instructors and Assistants. It is important that our customers have a fun experience so you need to be good at reading an audience. An ideal candidate loves being the host of a party and making sure that everyone gets attention and feels welcome. As a stage artist you must be highly energetic, animated, and lead people to sing, dance, and play games and have fun. This is not a formal art class - it is a fun night out for our guests and you are the host! As the host of the party, you are the one that initiates conversations and gets people interacting. You must be able to engage and guide both small groups and classes of up to 50 people to paint an acrylic painting in 2-3 hours. Artists also perform other tasks including set-up and clean up as needed. We primarily host evening classes, but classes and parties are held day and night 7 days a week for both kids and adults. Weekend availability is required, and living within a 20-minute commute of our Studio is recommended. There is an opportunity to work in multiple studios locations if desired. You must be able to reproduce our paintings, teach others (mostly beginners) to paint them, and be entertaining while doing so. The ideal candidate also has some performing experience - we currently have artists who are actors, singers, musicians, and all around entertainers. So make sure to tell us about more than just your painting experience. All Instructors start as Assistants and move into teaching if/when the fit is right. Go to our website www.paintingwithatwist.com to familiarize yourself with our business and the type of art you will be expected to teach. What you will need to submit: Please reply to this posting with your resume, sample images of your acrylic paintings (or link to your portfolio or website), and explain how you would engage and entertain customers and why you think they would enjoy taking a class with you. Candidates who submit applications missing any of these items will not be considered. If you successfully pass the phone interview, you will be asked to paint and entertain us in an in-person audition.
