Job Description

Corte is a new neighborhood restaurant opening in Philadelphia's East Market district in Fall 2026. Our menu will center on thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking from the wood-fired oven, alongside handmade pastas, seasonal vegetables, and a focused selection of Italian wines and classic cocktails. The restaurant is being built around familiar but ambitious food and genuine hospitality. Led by Executive Chef David Feola (Vernick Food & Drink, Ember and Ash, Hearthside; partner in Corio), we are building an opening team of people who take ownership, contribute ideas, and want to grow with the restaurant. We are seeking Hosts who are warm, organized, and understand the importance of setting the tone for a guest's experience from the moment they arrive. Responsibilities Welcome and engage guests with warmth and professionalism Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments throughout service Maintain an accurate understanding of the dining room and communicate clearly with managers and service staff Answer phones and assist guests with reservations, questions, and special requests Help manage the flow of the door and dining room to support smooth, well-paced service Maintain an organized and welcoming host area Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing menu and hospitality education Uphold the restaurant's standards for hospitality, consistency, and teamwork Qualifications Previous host or restaurant experience preferred, but not required Warm, confident, and professional communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to remain composed and welcoming while managing multiple priorities Comfortable communicating with guests in person and over the phone A team-first attitude and willingness to support colleagues across the floor Availability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, and holidays as required
