Responsibilities Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, managing reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Take accurate food and beverage orders, upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales. Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness. Assist with food preparation and food handling tasks as needed to support kitchen operations. Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive dining experience. Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems; process payments using POS platforms like OpenTable or similar tools. Support team members by bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and maintaining sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations. Skills Proven experience in food service roles such as server, host/hostess, or head server within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously. Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items effectively to maximize sales opportunities. Culinary experience or kitchen background is advantageous for understanding food preparation processes. Exceptional time management skills to handle multiple tables and tasks efficiently during busy hours. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, billing accuracy, and inventory management. Experience working in fine dining environments or nightclubs is preferred but not required.
