Job Description

Job Summary CHI is a non-profit educational cross-cultural organization founded in 1980 to promote international understanding and goodwill through people-to-people exchanges. We believe that the best way to build bridges of friendship and trust among people is to experience directly each other's' cultures, customs, languages and values. CHI aspires to share the benefits of cultural interchange with the many nations of the earth in the deeply held conviction that such exchanges ultimately contribute to a more prosperous and peaceful world. The Community Administrator (CA) is the first point of contact with the Host Family and Au Pair participants in the region. The Community Administrator is a part-time, non-salaried, home-based, independent contractor position in which the compensation is based on the number of host families recruited in the CA's region. Potential to earn up to $1800 per host family placement per year plus a bonus for new host families. Responsibilities Promote the program to potential host families in your region through local advertising, social media, word-of-mouth and other promotions and responding to inquiry calls. Interview potential Host Families to evaluate whether or not they are appropriate participants for the program. Orienting and supporting Host Families and Au Pairs and ensuring the adherence to program regulations established by the U.S. Department of State. Interview and orient in person all host family applicants to evaluate appropriateness. Orient au pairs as needed upon their arrival into the host family home to ensure a smooth adjustment. Plan and implement monthly meetings/cultural activities with the au pairs and phone contact with host families. Be available to the au pair and host family for counseling, support and conflict resolution during the au pair program. Plan and coordinate an annual Family Day event. Qualifications Must reside in Austin, TX. Up-to-date computer skills. Comfort using social media. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with both Host Families and Au Pairs. Must have at least an associate degree.
