Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a positive first impression of the restaurant. Manage restaurant reservation systems and seating charts efficiently to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction. Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant offerings. Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and smooth service flow. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, including menus, reservation logs, and waiting lists. Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and seating preferences to enhance overall guest experience. Use restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to track reservations and seating status accurately. Requirements Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred. Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor. Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interaction. Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software and POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlist management, and guest billing when necessary. Organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest requests efficiently.
