Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists with enthusiasm and professionalism Handle restaurant reservation management using various table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and guest flow Process customer transactions accurately using POS systems, including cash, credit, and mobile payments Maintain clear communication with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction Answer phone inquiries with courteous phone etiquette, take reservations, and provide information about the restaurant offerings Uphold food safety standards and ensure guest relations are positive through attentive service and problem resolution Experience Prior host/hostess experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred Food service experience is highly desirable to understand restaurant operations and guest expectations Strong communication skills with the ability to handle phone calls professionally and courteously Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software and POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus Excellent organizational skills to manage reservations, seating charts, and guest flow efficiently Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing cash register operations Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
