Responsibilities Greet and warmly welcome guests at the door. Escort guests to the dining room, and introduce them to their server. Answer the telephone, book reservations, and move tables together to accommodate large parties. Monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables. Estimate wait times for guests, and monitor the guest waiting list. Ensure all guest needs are met to the required standard. Correctly account for all payments taken. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by leader. Qualifications High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a positive, attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. Flexible and long hours are sometimes required. Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to stand during the entire shift.
