Full Job Description Overview:
The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Lead Hostess to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The Lead Hostess is the front-of-house ambassador for the restaurant, responsible for creating an exceptional first and last impression for every guest. This role oversees the host stand, manages reservations and guest flow, supports service leadership, and ensures a gracious, seamless dining experience that reflects the restaurant's service standards.
Responsibilities:
Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, using names and confirming preferences in table settings managing optimal seating and plotting reservations during events, holidays, and peak days. Resolve guest concerns with tact, urgency, and a service‑driven mindset as it pertains to seating needs and wine room bookings. Ensure all guests receive a personalized, memorable, and hospitable experience. Update guests' profile and record preferences for repeat business development. Communicate real-time changes or challenges to the management team. Prepare daily seating charts, special-event needs, and guest notes, coordinating table turns, pacing, and special requests efficiently. Serve as the point-of-contact between hosts, servers, managers, and kitchen leadership. Support management with open/close procedures as assigned. Assist with events, large parties, and VIP coordination; Assist with promotion set up and break down Train, support, schedule, and mentor the host team to uphold service standards. Handle phone inquiries, confirmations, email requests, and special accommodations.
Qualifications:
Aspire to our values of being passionate, strive for excellence, remain relevant, collaborate and act with honor and integrity Must have problem resolution experience Experience with concepts or previous employment enforcing policies. Minimum 2 years' experience preferred 5-star hotel setting, as a lead hostess. Must have a working knowledge of Open Table and other data tracking tools. Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required Must be able to perform side work duties to ensure tables are ready for arrivals.
Physical demands:
Must have the ability to carry a tray up to 25lbs of food or dirty dishes
Pay Range:
USD $21.00 - USD $21.00 /Hr.
