Job Description

Front Door Host / Greeter Part-Time | Front of House Operations Type Part-Time Reports To General Manager Scope Front of House Location The Woodlands, TX Position Summary The Front Door Host is the first impression for La Madeleine's guests and the director of our guest flow. Because guests order before they are seated, this hourly front-of-house role is responsible for warmly welcoming every guest, guiding them into the ordering line, and ensuring the dining room stays reserved for guests who have already ordered and paid. You will work closely with the Table Assigner to keep tables clean, available, and ready for guests as soon as they finish ordering. Schedule Requirements This is a part-time position requiring availability on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Available shift blocks are:
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM 2:00 PM - 8:00
PM What You'll Do The Warm Welcome:
Greet every guest enthusiastically with a friendly "Bonjour!" the moment they walk through the door.
Process Guidance:
Explain the service model to first-time guests (e.g., "Welcome! Please step right up to the bakery counter to order first, and we will assign you a table right after!").
Flow & Door Control:
Politely but firmly hold incoming guests from entering the main dining room to claim empty tables, ensuring those tables remain open for guests who have already paid.
Queue Management:
Keep the ordering line organized and moving smoothly during busy breakfast and lunch rushes.
Team Communication:
Stay in constant communication with the Table Assigner to know exactly how many tables are open and when to pace the line.
Menu Assistance:
Answer quick questions about the menu or seasonal specials while guests are waiting in line.

A Welcoming Personality:
You genuinely enjoy interacting with people and can project high energy at the front door.
Clear Communicator:
You can easily and quickly explain the ordering and seating process to guests.
Adaptability:
Ability to stay calm, organized, and confident during peak hours.
