Job Description

Gaming Assistant (Race Host) — Sim Racing Events & Guest Experience Sterling, VA $14 an hour
  • Part-time $14 an hour
  • Part-time About Simulators City Simulators City is a social sim racing centre where casual first-timers and serious racers go wheel-to-wheel on professional-grade racing simulators.
We run race nights, hotlap challenges, leaderboards, parties and corporate team-building events in a high-energy, hospitality-led environment. Every guest who walks in should leave having had the best hour of their week and you're the person who makes that happen. The Role As a Gaming Assistant (Race Host), you're the face of the venue and the engine behind our events. You'll welcome guests, get them set up and confident in the simulators, run our race formats from green light to chequered flag, and keep the floor running smoothly. This is a guest-facing, on-your-feet role that blends hospitality with the buzz of live racing. What You'll Do
  • Welcome every guest with genuine positivity and set the tone for their visit
  • Manage the booking system, check guests in, extend bookings, and flag pre-orders, special requests, and group reservations
  • Deliver the simulator intro, give clear, friendly instructions and help each guest get into the rig, adjust their seat and settings, get comfortable, and feel confident before the lights go out
  • Run our event formats end-to-end, race nights, heats, endurance races, hotlap challenges , and leaderboard competitions, keeping sessions on time and the energy high from start to finish
  • Host group and corporate bookings — birthday parties, stag/hen dos, work socials, client events and team-building days
  • Check equipment is fully operational before each event and report any faults
  • Process payments accurately and handle the till
  • Keep the venue clean, safe, and presentable — uphold hygiene, health & safety, and basic food and fire safety standards
  • Take part in training and team meetings, arriving punctual and presentable for every shift What We're Looking For Essential
  • Previous experience in hospitality, events, reception or a customer-facing role (around 1 year preferred)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A social, energetic and charismatic personality — confident engaging with guests and groups
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure during busy sessions
  • Comfortable using a booking system (full training provided)
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays around the event calendar Nice to have
  • Basic knowledge of fire safety
  • An interest in motorsport, racing or gaming
  • Experience hosting events, parties or group activities Why Join Us
  • A genuinely fun place to work — racing, events, and a buzzing atmosphere every shift
  • Full training on our simulators, race formats and systems
  • Be part of a tight-knit team at the heart of the experience
