Weekend Floater/Busser/Host at Horseshoe Cafe

Horseshoe Cafe is a local diner in Bellingham, WA. We've been around since 1886 and are the oldest Cafe in the state! We like to have fun, are inclusive, team oriented, and fast-paced.

On-the-job training Casual work attire Food provided Company perks Growth opportunities The floater is a weekend position meant to alleviate the pressures and stress of the servers and bartenders during the rushes. This position may be cut early if business is slow and temporarily halted during slow months. Must be able to handle pressure, work in a fast paced environment with a sense of urgency, deal with guests who are under the influence of alcohol, and be a quick learner. This position does not require any previous experience, however barista or restaurant experience is preferred.

Duties include:

Dropping menus to guests Bussing tables and keeping dish-pit organized for dishwasher Side-work (ex. rolling silverware, filling sauces, cleaning projects..etc) Working as a team to help everything go smooth and help customers have the best experience possible Will be expected to work other shifts where a floater is needed (ex. sunday nights before a Monday holiday, Halloween, New Years Eve/day, July 4th, Memorial day, and Labor day...etc) Occasionally taking tables when needed Checking/tidying bathrooms Running food if/when needed Servers and Bartenders will tip out a percentage of their tips to the floater every shift, this usually ranges from an extra $3-$5 an hour Floaters often work their way up to a serving position when they are able to do all the duties of a floater and the business has more to offer them. With that said, all FOH staff at the Horseshoe Cafe are required to be 21+.
